Camp Dogwood provides a sanctuary of solace and support for children navigating grief. At Camp Dogwood, we understand the weight of loss and the unique challenges it poses for children. We provide a nurturing environment where grieving kids can connect with peers who share similar experiences, forming bonds that offer comfort and understanding.
Through a blend of therapeutic activities, expressive arts and compassionate guidance from trained counselors, Camp Dogwood fosters resilience and growth, empowering children to honor their memories while embracing the beauty of life’s continuing journey.
Camp Dogwood is a free, one day event for children who are entering First to Seventh Grade from Troup, Coweta, Heard, Meriwether and Harris counties who have experienced the loss of a loved one. Created in 1997 as an outreach of West Georgia Hospice, it now serves up to 60 children each summer with the help of about 80 volunteers.
